Manny proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 2002, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. His years in uniform reflected his character—disciplined, loyal, and committed to serving others. After his military service, he built a distinguished 17-year career at AJA Video Systems in Grass Valley, California, where he worked as a Senior Field Systems Engineer. He was respected by colleagues and clients alike for his technical expertise and the relationships he built across the world. His work took him throughout Latin America, the Netherlands, and across most of the United States, where he became known not only for his skill but for his warmth, humor, and larger-than-life personality.
On September 30, 2016, Manny married Sofia Getsim, the love of his life and his true companion. Sofia remembers him as trustworthy, loyal, and deeply honest—“There was nobody I trusted more,” she said. “He lit up any room he entered. Everyone was glad to see him.”
To Manny, family was everything. His children—Caleb (21), Tiana (21), and Desiree (17)—were the center of his world. He was intentional about every moment with them. Tiana remembers him as fun-loving and “the best dad you could ask for.” Desiree called him “one of a kind… a provider, protector, and the most reliable person I knew.” His son Caleb said, “He was selfless and always there for other people.”
Beyond his family, Manny’s passions revealed his zest for life. He loved fishing, boating, the beach, and anything near the water. He had a talent for technology and computer programming, and a playful side that came out in dominoes, golfing, and dancing to Spanish music. He was a big-hearted man—“a big teddy bear,” as his daughter described him—who always made others feel seen and valued.
Manny is survived by his wife, Sofia Rosado, and their children Caleb, Tiana, and Desiree; his father Manuel Rosado, Sr. and stepmother Cindy Rosado; his mother Elizabeth Gallego, sister Mariely Rosado, sister Tania Rosario, 10 nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
Preceded in death by his grandfather Antonio Rosado, grandmother Maria Paez Rosado, grandfather Enrique Gallego, grandmother Eliza Gallego.
Those who knew Manny will never forget his energy, his laughter, and his unwavering devotion to the people he loved most. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched—with kindness, integrity, and joy.
