POLGAR, Paul “Cisco” Steve of Lake Mary, Florida, passed from this life to the next on Sunday, November 29, 2015. He is the son of Paul and Elizabeth Polgar and was born 92 years ago in Elyria, Ohio. Paul was proud of his Hungarian heritage and spoke the language fluently. Paul was an accomplished Navy pilot for 24 years and reached the rank of Commander. Early in his Navy career he got the nickname “Cisco” for his dashing handsome looks similar to the “Cisco Kid”. It seems surreal that he flew jet bombers carrying nuclear weapons on an off carriers at night. He was an avid Windsurfer since 1979 and competed successfully in master’s division regattas until he retired from the sport. He also created an archive of wonderful events in his life with the use of a Bell and Howell 8mm film camera. He loved the beach, snorkeling, sailing, camping and what he called “ball hawking”. He was a true jack-of-all-trades working part time as a handyman, painter and airplane restorer after his Navy career. He built two boats, including a sailboat from scratch. He had a smile for everyone. He always saw the best in people and was kind to everyone. He was known for his wild sense of humor and photo "ham". He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth Alice (Laux) Polgar and his second daughter Lisa Polgar. He is survived by his brother, John Polgar (Elyria, OH.), his second wife Helen Hamner Polgar, his sons Paul Allan Polgar (Safety Harbor, FL.), James Polgar (Dunedin, FL.) and his daughter Jayne Polgar Alcorn (Orlando, FL.) Also surviving are Helen’s sons and daughters: Bebe Corbin (Van Nuys, CA.), Donna Hamner (Newberry Park, CA.) Brenda Hamner Bairan (Marietta, GA.) and Karl D. Hamner (deceased). Paul’s grandkids include: Paul Scott Polgar, Parker Polgar, Alicia Polgar, Kyle Horick, Bret Horick, Jordan Hamner, and Giancarlo Hamner. Services are 2PM Friday, December 4, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church 128 W. Wilbur Ave, Lake Mary, FL.
