Robert Harold Ashcraft

After graduating high school, Robert joined the United States Air Force. On April 11, 1951 he began his military career at basic training for 8 weeks, transferring to Georgia after for another 8 week period. In October of 1951 Robert was stationed in Japan. During his time in the military he fought in the Vietnam War and Korean War. On May 1 of 1971 Robert retired as Staff Sergeant to start building his family with his wife who had always supported him. He settled in Florida and obtained a job with American Wood Products in Longwood where he worked for over 20 years until he retired.

Robert is pre-deceased by his wife Ella Marie, his son Timothy Eugene and his grandson Robert Lee. He is survived by his children Robert ( Teresa) L. Ashcraft, Donna Ashcraft, Tammy Berry, Brian Ashcraft and Tina Ashcraft along with his grandchildren Jason Ashcraft, Eric Ashcraft, Michael Whitley Jr., Ellie Jo Ruby and Kayla Ashcraft. Robert also leaves behind his great-grandchildren A.J. Ruby, Nicholas Flory, Alexia Ruby, Abbygale Ruby, Phoenix Ashcraft, Daniel Ashcraft, Zoey Ashcraft and Londen Ashcraft.

A graveside service will be held on September 2, 2016 at 10:00am at Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Sanford, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Robert's name to Animal Advocates, 3312 Palm Way Drive, Sanford, FL 32773.
