Roger G Johnston

Roger was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, eventually settling in Florida with his family. He was in the Navy from 1958-1962. He retired from a long career at Orlando Utilities Commission, after which he returned to Tennessee, to the town of Chucky. He enjoyed a leisurely retirement for the next 20-plus years before returning to FL in 2019. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, especially as these activities afforded him the opportunity to spend quality time with his brothers, sons and friends who shared his love of these pastimes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary; His brothers John Johnston and Harvey Johnston, and he was preceded in death by sisters Barbara and Patricia; sons Eddie Johnston, Duane Johnston, and John Carson ; daughters Sheri Pierce, Jacquelyn Carson, Sandy Carson, Lollie Faneuf; grandsons, Ben, Mark, Matt, Ronnie, Miles, Michael, and preceded in death by grandson Jeremy; granddaughters Ahnika, Aryona, Kristen, Courtney, Shannon, Jade, Jordan; 9 great-grandchildren; many loving family members and friends.

We will miss you, Pops, and hope you are at peace after navigating the difficult journey with Alzheimer’s. See you on the other side.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home Oaklawn, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida. The celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery.
