Samuel Graves Hall Jr. went to be with the Lord on August 14th, 2021 following hospitalization from a brief illness. He was born on January 4th, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edith Bohn Hall and the late Samuel Graves Hall Sr. He was the son-in-law to the late Fay M. Breucker, and the late Edward H. Breucker. He grew up in Wyoming, Ohio and later attended the Kentucky Military Institute, graduating with the rank of Master Sergeant. He excelled at playing quarterback, kicker, and being a member of the track team at KMI, always loving football, or any sport. He then attended the University of Cincinnati where he was also in the ROTC, then onto Nashville’s Technical and Diesel College. Sam started out and worked his way up in the Lubrication Engineering Industry, eventually consulting all over the world, knowing everything needed to function and operate any piece of machinery with any type of grease or lubrication. He was very well-respected in his field, designing and publishing project manuals and booklets for both customers and companies as a Technical Service Manager. Sam Hall was so renowned in his field, his career would often involve traveling to other countries to educate others. During his long career he trained so many in the art of industrial applications. Sam received countless accolades and certificates, including being certified as an Oil Monitoring Analyst and Tribologist by the STLE. His stellar reputation for his knowledge carried with him throughout his life.
Even with all of his career achievements, family was always Sam’s priority. He always put family first. He is survived by Deborah Ann Breucker Hall (wife), Samuel Graves Hall III (son) and his “fiancée” Emily Becker, Linda Fay Webb (stepdaughter), Joseph Timothy Webb (stepson) and his wife Vennessa Gale Webb (daughter-in-law), and their two sons, Timothy Joseph Webb II (grandson) and Ty Edward Webb (grandson). Sam met the love of his life, Deborah Ann Breucker Webb, in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1990 and they instantly knew they were soulmates. Their marriage was filled with special happiness as they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and fun. Just being together made them happy. Anything his family needed, no matter what it would be, he would be available for them. They were his everything. Sam and his loyal, loving son Sammy had an incredibly strong bond that brought them much happiness. Sam coached his son Sammy’s football team and was a great asset to the school’s sports program. Sam was so proud of his children. Sam, Debbie, and Sammy moved to Lake Mary, Florida in 2010 to escape the harsh winters in Ohio and to see their son Sammy attend and graduate from the University of Central Florida. Sam was so looking forward to seeing Sam III receive his Nursing Degree.
Sam was also adored by his stepchildren, and especially their two adorable grandsons, The grandchildren loved their Pops so much because of his caring nature and fun stories. He would amaze Timmy and Ty with everything he taught them. He is also survived by Jack and Linda Jeffrey (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Joe and Kelly Scanlon (niece and nephew) and their children, Kyle, and Kayla, as well as Shawn “Jessica” Jeffrey (nephew and niece) and their child, Harper (great niece). Numerous business friends will miss him as well.
While Sam’s children are his legacy, he was a role model for many more. Everyone who spent time with him was influenced to be a better person. His calm, eloquent demeanor, kindness and ability to communicate with people from all walks of life will leave a lasting impact on everyone with who he connected. He was much loved and well respected, not only in his industry but by people who would meet him for the first time or for those he had known for many years. Those he shared the most memorable times without outside of his family were he and Debbie’s best friends Tommy and Vicki Miller of Cincinnati and Ken and Lynne Smith of Lake Mary. After moving to Florida, he and his family enjoyed all that Florida had to offer, especially the weather and Disney parks. Sam and his family were blessed to have traveled the entire country, from their favorite areas of Destin, Florida to out west to Arizona to see their daughter Linda. Sam also always enjoyed the simpler things in life such as doing yardwork outside and caring for their home. At one point in time, he and Debbie had three acres in Cincinnati where a perfect day for Sam was just cutting the lawn on his riding mower and then coming inside to watch football and movies with Debbie and his son Sammy. Sam truly savored life and was a faithful servant of God. Sam was a free Mason and his Episcopalian faith sustained him throughout his entire life, while overcoming several major health challenges. He could persevere like no other yet he was known as a gentle giant. Sam will be missed beyond words and forever loved. He was a strong man, a leader, and a teacher with a heart of gold. A Memorial Mass will be held in September at the Cathedral of St. Luke’s Episcopal in Orlando. Any donations to the American Lung Association would be much appreciated in Sam’s loving memory.
