Shirley Mae Lynch

As the summer of 1932 began to close, Shirley Mae Lynch, age 82, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Wilbie Wages and Mary Alice Fredonia Coles on Saturday, September 3rd. Shirley was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) maintaining her license through the age of 80, a testament to her dedication to her practice. She worked dozens of years at the Veterans Hospital, University Hospital, several long term care facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio and then as an LPN at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office before retirement. Returning to school at age 32 to earn her LPN, she was committed to self-betterment through education and earned numerous professional development certificates for workshops and seminars, and graduated with an Associate’s degree 20 years later! As an only child, family was paramount for Shirley. She loved her family and all our gatherings! Outings, holiday dinners and birthdays spent as a family were cherished events for her. She also loved travel, reading, computer games, and had a large Facebook family. More importantly, she loved the Lord and made sure all her family did as well. She enjoyed a very active life having become a snowbird of sorts. She spent this past summer with one of her daughters and son in law in Tulsa, Ok. She was scheduled to return to Florida in only a few weeks, when in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, she was called home on October 15, 2014. Shirley is survived by a loving family of three daughters; Sharon Jones (Orlando, Fl.), Dr. Karen Adams (Tulsa, Ok.), Crystal Blanks (Orlando, Fl.), her late daughter, Alicia Gordon (Atlanta, GA.), one son, Markus Lynch (Cincinnati, Ohio) and a son in law, Leeman Adams (Tulsa, Ok.); eight grandchildren, Kelcy Carothers, Cydney Jones, Krystin Blanks, Taylor Blanks, James Gordon Jr., Bethany Bryce, Amanda Gordon, Eric Gordon; five great grandchildren, Trenton, Jessie, Cameron, Chrisette, and Eric, Jr.; two great-great grandchildren; Jayon and Jasmine, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
