

Mr. Thomas Delbert Carpenter Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, in Deltona, Florida. Born on November 30, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, he was one of ten children born to Frank and Lillian Carpenter.
Tom proudly served his country in the Navy for four years before being honorably discharged. He then enlisted in the Air Force, where he dedicated eight years of his life to service. After his military career, he found his calling as a carpenter and woodworker, eventually retiring as a U.S. Customs Inspector.
In 1966, Tom married the love of his life, Phyllis, and together they shared many wonderful years filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones. His passions included woodworking, painting, fishing, and creating lasting memories with his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, their children, Tammy, Thomas Jr. (Tiffanie), and Todd (Rosalie), and his cherished grandchildren: Chris (Rachel), Randy (Elizabeth), Caitlin, Brittany (Cuan), and Alek. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Colin, Rayne, Snow, Nova, Seven, Casper, Angelina, and Sophie.
He leaves behind siblings Gary, Russ, Jim, and George, who will remember him fondly. Tom was predeceased by his parents and siblings Vick, Frank, Larry, Roger, and Sally.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A funeral service for Thomas will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel & Oaklawn Cemetery, 5000 Co Rd 46A, Sanford, FL 32771.
