

Born on February 17, 1941 in Glen Cove, New York. Walter was the second child of three children born to Walter and Lillian Eriksen, Sr.
He graduated from Nyack College and received his Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He was an ordained minister with the Evangelical Free Church of America.
Walter pastored EFCA churches in North Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado. Later in his ministry he moved to Orlando to be District Superintendent for the Southeast District of the EFCA.
Other Ministries Walter served in included the Northeast Area FCYF (Youth) of North Dakota. He was on the Board of the Elim Homes of Minnesota and ASON International of Florida. Walter gave of his time, talent, friendship and energy as Coordinator of the Rochester Police Chaplaincy Program.
While at Nyack College he met his bride-to-be Patricia (Pat) Swim. They were married in 1963. He was a loving Father to his two daughters Laura and Deborah.
Walter also enjoyed fishing, camping, riding bike and his motorcycle, cars, sports and mowing his lawn and making sure it looked pristine. He was an encourager, friend and mentor to many.
Walter is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia of Orlando, FL and his children Laura (Larry) Zirbel of Winter Park, FL and Deborah (Troy) Clark of Orlando, FL and his grandchildren Evan (Shelby) Zirbel, Kelly Zirbel, Jason Zirbel, Owen Clark and Grace Clark, his brother Eric (Yvonne) Eriksen and a niece and two nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Walter A.T. Eriksen, Sr., mother Lillian Rydberg Eriksen, Stepmother Orlena Eriksen and his sister and brother-in-law, Lillian Eriksen Turley and James Turley.
Walter’s greatest love and passion was serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was his highest desire and honor to tell others of Jesus’ love and gift of salvation.
Service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at St. Andrews Chapel, 5525 Wayside Dr, Sanford, FL 32771. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m. All are invited to a reception in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Andrews Chapel or ASON International, P.O. Box 411210, Melbourne, Florida 32941.
