Brian Paul Schneider, affectionately known as BriGuy, passed away on May 16, 2025, at the age of 53 in Tustin, California. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Brian moved from Los Angeles in 1986 and made Orange County his home for the remainder of his life.
Brian was a trained and talented chef, whose joy in cooking extended far beyond the kitchen. He poured his heart into every dish, delighting in preparing meals for friends, family, and anyone lucky enough to sit at his table. His passion for creating beauty extended to his love of dolphins, crystals, dragons, and crafting — all reflections of the magic he brought into everyday life.
Brian is survived by his loving mother, Bev Sherman, and stepfather, Mike Sherman; his devoted sisters, Debi Setka and Jodi Zevon; his nephew, Nick Setka, and nieces, Olivia Setka and Willow Zevon. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Jay Schneider, and his soulmate, Jonathan David Magnusson, the love of his life.
Warm, loving, and endlessly extroverted, Brian had a unique gift for making every person he met feel seen, valued, and loved. With a warm smile, a sharp sense of humor, and a nickname for just about everyone, he lit up every room he entered. He was a true caregiver — generous beyond measure, quick with compliments, and always ready to lend a hand or an ear.
Brian touched countless lives with his kindness and joy, and the world is a gentler, more beautiful place because he was in it. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on June 28, 2025 at 3:00pm in the Legacy Chapel at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary in Santa Ana, where stories, laughter, and love will be shared in his memory — just as he would have wanted.
