Frances DeAngelo, born Frances Josephine Carlini , went to be with her Lord & family on Sunday, July 19th, 2020. She left this world the way that she lived, with endless beauty, grace, and peace. Even her final moments were filled with love with her beloved daughter-in-law Lori & granddaughters Natalie & Checca by her side.
Frances was born on May 22nd, 1923, to Camillo & Maria Carlini, in Detroit, Michigan.
She grew up with her three siblings Joe, Mary, and Bena. As a young woman, during World War II, she stepped up as a leader and worked as an administrator on the assembly lines. She oversaw production and the safety of the many riveters, the women who helped Detroit, and our country thrive during its heyday.
She fell in love with and married August DeAngelo and at the age of 22. For 69 years their love grew deep roots and reached out many branches that sheltered, nourished and sustained those around them. Their love was a beacon of light, an example of selflessness and a pillar of stability.
Frances and Augie were blessed with four children, Sam, Michael, Raymond, and Debra, whom they raised in Detroit. In 1967, when their youngest child was 10, they were ready for a change. Tired of the snow, they packed up and moved to Southern California where the family has remained.
Frances poured her heart, soul, time, talent and energy into her family. Nurtured by her love, the family thrived and grew into a successful, dynamic, vibrant, tight knit tribe. She loved her family dearly, and showed it at every opportunity.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, and is survived by her three sons, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She and her beloved sister Bena left this world together, less than 24 hours apart, after speaking over video with each other the previous week.
For 97 years Frances gave lovingly and generously of herself. She was a woman of God, a pillar in her family, and a proud member of the greatest generation, She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed by her presence in their lives.
