It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria DiDodo on January 6, 2025, at the age of nearly 102. A beloved matriarch, devoted Nonna, and cherished pillar of our family and community, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and an unmatched spirit that will forever inspire those who knew her.
Born on March 30, 1923, in Montreal, Canada, Gloria grew up surrounded by the values that would shape her life: family, faith, and the joy of a shared meal. As a proud owner of Cortina's Italian Market & Pizzeria, she transformed her passion for cooking into a gathering place for countless friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Her recipes were more than food—they were love stories served on a plate, imbued with her warmth and devotion.
Gloria was a woman of fierce love and unwavering strength. She dedicated her life to nurturing those around her, offering wisdom to those who sought her counsel, kindness to all who crossed her path, and a steadfast shoulder to lean on. Her laughter could fill a room, her stories could span generations, and her embrace was a sanctuary for all who needed it. She taught us the importance of perseverance, humility, and the simple joys of life. From her, we learned how to face challenges with courage, to give generously, and to love unconditionally.
Her presence was a gift, and we are endlessly grateful for the nearly 102 remarkable years we were blessed to share with her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Pasquale (Pat) Joseph DiDodo (Janice), Mario Joseph DiDodo (Christine); her grandchildren, Patrick Anthony DiDodo, James Edward DiDodo, Nicholas Anthony DiDodo, Michael Joseph DiDodo; her great-grandchildren, Ryan DiDodo, Gina DiDodo, Anthony DiDodo, Julia DiDodo, Mia DiDodo, James DiDodo, her sister, Lidia Senecal; her brother, Jim Bertoldi; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Gloria’s incredible life will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10 AM at Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary.
While our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in knowing that her love lives on in each of us. Her laughter, her stories, and her spirit will forever be a part of our family and the community she touched so deeply.
Rest in peace, dearest Nonna. You are loved beyond measure and missed beyond words.
