Judith Ann des Jardins

Judith Ann Des Jardins, born Judith Orr, (12/28/1940-8/16/2025) was born three days after Christmas in her mother’s bed in Chanute , Kansas. In search of work, her father, Jim Orr, moved his small family to Orange County, California where Judy was to spend the rest of her life.

A precocious child, Judy won baby beauty contests and appeared on stage singing and dancing before starting school. A born performer she was a flag girl and model before she went to Junior College.

As an Executive Secretary , she encouraged her husband Bob, who she had married in 1969 to attend night law school where he graduated at the top of his class. Sweet baby Nichol was born in 1970 and Judy in addition to her other accomplishments became a legal secretary and managed Bob’s burgeoning law practice. Judy worked both full time and managed Nichol’s competitive ice skating career.

Judy, Bob and Nichol enjoyed traveling to Tahiti, Hawaii, Paris, and Canada as well as taking equestrian trips across the South of France. Judy loved her family, pets included and she loved especially Pasha, her Siamese cat of 21 years, Missy, a shetland sheepdog, Precious, Coco, Velveeta, Natalie, Tiffany and Julia, cats that she called her “kids”, Dan and Danielle, yellow labradors, Jerry, a dog that Nichol brought home from West Africa, Bonnie the big hearted poodle, Missy , a whippet mix ,and Rick the ferret.

She loved Christmastime and made her home glow with the season every winter lavishing gifts upon those she loved. Her gift wrapping was an art. She also loved singing and even during the last years of her life when she was often unable to find words to express herself, she would burst into song bringing smiles to those around her.

Survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob Des Jardins,, her daughter Nichol Clark, her grandsons Spencer Phillip Clark and Tristan Scott Des Jardins Gorin, her dog Missy and her cat Julia , she will be missed by all. To them she gave her unconditional love and for that their lives are all the better.
