María Luisa Galaviz, a woman known for her remarkable strength, unwavering faith and ceaseless love, left this world too soon on December 29, 2024, at the age of 63 in Irvine, California. Born on August 25, 1961 in the sun-kissed lands of Durango, Mexico to Eduardo and Onesima Rocha, María Luisa was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her journey has been marked by moments of profound joy and incredible strength. She married the love of her life Efren Galaviz on her 17th birthday. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Efren Galaviz, her children Eva Ramírez, Efren Galaviz Jr., and Danny Galaviz; her cherished 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as her extended family and many friends.

María Luisa was a woman of great strength and resilience, as demonstrated by her enduring positivity and grace in the face of adversity. Despite undergoing five brain surgeries, she never gave up on life and continued to live it to the fullest, sharing her sharp wit and infectious sense of humor with those around her.

As a teenager, María Luisa was crowned queen of her hometown at the age of 15 for raising the most funds for her community. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where her compassion and dedication to caring for others shone brightly.

A woman of deep faith, María Luisa found comfort in daily mass, loved watching novelas, cooking, and soaking in the sun. She cherished her time with family, particularly with her husband, children, son and daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Above all, her family was her heart, and she loved them all with boundless affection.

A celebration of María Luisa’s life will be held on January 15, 2025, at Christ Our Savior Catholic Church in Santa Ana at 10:00 AM. Following the service, her funeral will take place at Fairhaven Memorial in Santa Ana at 11:30 AM.

María Luisa leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. In her memory, we remember her words and her example:

María Luisa Galaviz, una mujer conocida por su notable fortaleza, fe inquebrantable y amor incesante, dejó este mundo demasiado pronto el 29 de diciembre de 2024, a la edad de 63 años en Irvine, California. Nacida el 25 de agosto de 1961 en las soleadas tierras de Durango, México, hija de Eduardo y Onesima Rocha, María Luisa fue una esposa amorosa, madre devota, abuela y bisabuela. Su viaje ha estado marcado por momentos de profunda alegría e increíble fortaleza. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Efren Galaviz, en su cumpleaños número 17. Le sobreviven su amado esposo de 46 años, Efren Galaviz, sus hijos Eva Ramírez, Efren Galaviz Jr. y Danny Galaviz; sus queridos 6 nietos y 1 bisnieto; así como su extensa familia y muchos amigos.

María Luisa fue una mujer de gran fortaleza y resiliencia, como lo demostró su positividad y gracia ante la adversidad. A pesar de someterse a cinco cirugías cerebrales, nunca se dio por vencida y continuó viviéndola al máximo, compartiendo su agudo ingenio y su contagioso sentido del humor con quienes la rodeaban.

Cuando era adolescente, María Luisa fue coronada reina de su ciudad natal a la edad de 15 años por recaudar la mayor cantidad de fondos para su comunidad. Trabajó como asistente de enfermería certificada (CNA), donde su compasión y dedicación al cuidado de los demás brillaron con fuerza.

Una mujer de profunda fe, María Luisa encontró consuelo en la misa diaria, le encantaba ver telenovelas, cocinar y tomar el sol. Apreciaba el tiempo con su familia, particularmente con su esposo, hijos, yerno y nueras, nietos y bisnieto. Por encima de todo, su familia era su corazón y los amaba a todos con un afecto ilimitado.

El 15 de enero de 2025, a las 10:00 a. m., se celebrará la vida de María Luisa en la Iglesia Católica Cristo Nuestro Salvador en Santa Ana. Luego del servicio, su funeral se llevará a cabo en Fairhaven Memorial en Santa Ana a las 11:30 a. m.

María Luisa deja un legado de amor, risas y fortaleza que seguirá inspirando a todos los que la conocieron. En su memoria, recordamos sus palabras y su ejemplo: "El amor de una madre es como un río, siempre fluyendo y siempre dando". "Una mujer de gran fortaleza y resiliencia".
