Nancy Lee Wehrly

Nancy Lee Wehrly, 88 of Tustin, CA passed away on June 18, 2020. Nancy was born at Mission Hospital in Huntington Park, CA on August 19, 1931 to James Byron Smith and Elizabeth Grace Smith. She had one brother, James Byron Smith II. Nancy grew up in California and loved swimming as a child. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1949 and attended UCLA for 2 years. At UCLA, she met her future husband, Charles “Bud” Wehrly and they were married on February 2, 1952. Together they had four children: three daughters Jennifer, Julie and Carrie and one son, Michael.

Along with being a homemaker, Nancy also worked in admissions at Children’s Hospital of Orange County for 20 years. She loved golf, traveling, reading, knitting and playing bridge. Nancy was a member of Saddleback Church and truly loved attending bible studies. She had a variety of beloved pets, dogs: Desi, Lucy, Dolly, Lisa and Ernie, Boots the cat and Petunia the desert tortoise. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Clark (husband Adam) her son Michael Wehrly (wife Amanda), her grandchildren: Alexandra, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Marie, Nicholas, Dylan, Miranda, Erynn and Justin and great grandchildren: Miriam, Brendan, Andrew, Margaret and Genevieve.
