Patsy Carroll Vesely

Thank you to her grandchildren, church family, and friends for visiting her brightening her day.

Patsy Carroll was born on August 13, 1929 to Mason Gower and Gladys Carroll in Akron, Ohio. Her sister, Violet and she visited their grandparents every weekend, a tradition that continued in the future. Later the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She met her husband, Edward Karl Vesely at Case Western Reserve. After attending for two years, they decided to get married on Sept. 24, 1949. In 1952, Edward Sr. and Edward Jr. built their home in Parma, Ohio. They had 4 daughters, Carroll, Laura, Kim, and Renee. Renee was born after they moved to California in 1962. The family lived in Redondo Beach, West Covina and then bought a home in Placentia. Renee was born in 1965, the day they moved to this home. Then they moved to a home in Diamond Bar from 1981-2006. Edward battled cancer for 6 years and passed away in 1991. Mom was a housewife caring for 4 daughters and took care of the office for Edward’s acoustical contract business. They were blessed to have 7 grandchildren. Kim and Ramon’s children were Eddy and Patsy. Carroll and Richard’s children were Emily and Paula.

It was very hard after Edward passed away; however Patsy adjusted by going to grief groups, volunteering at St Jude hospital, and volunteering at the library. She was blessed to have 3 more grandchildren. Laura and Steve had David; and Renee and Todd had Zachary and Heather. She was the grandchildren’s biggest fan for all their soccer, basketball, and baseball games. In 2006 she moved to a smaller home in Yorba Linda. She attended Rose Drive Friends Church and went to their Bible study with Renee for 25 years.

She was always there for her daughters, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. She always opened her home for birthday and holiday celebrations and visits. We all loved spending a lot of time with her and she was always willing to help us when we had difficult situations. She was very compassionate, caring, and an excellent helper to those in need. We had great talks and many laughs!! She will be missed greatly.

Patsy was survived by her daughters, Carroll Martin (Richard); Laura Macchia (Steve passed away 2017), Kim Herrera (Ramon); and Renee Brown (Todd).

A Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rose Drive Friends Church, 4221 Rose Drive, Yorba Linda, CA 92886. There will be a reception following with ice cream & cookies.
