Paul B. Witmer, Jr. of Lake Oswego, OR passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021, just 11 days short of his 97th birthday. Mr. Witmer was born in Santa Ana, CA on July 17, 1924 to Paul B. Witmer and Arvilla Ball Witmer. He attended Santa Ana High School where he served as Student Body Vice President and Editor of the school newspaper. Mr. Witmer served in the Air Force in Europe during the tail end of World War II. Afterwards, he returned to California to complete his Bachelor Degree at the University of California, Berkeley and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1957 and practiced law in Orange County for over 40 years. He was a partner in the law office of Jacobs, Jacobs and Witmer and later worked in private practice. He was married to Dorothy “Kate” Kane in 1961. They had two children John Kane Witmer (deceased) and Anne Marie Witmer.
Mr. Witmer was a beloved and active member in his community in the Santa Ana/Tustin area and later in Anaheim Hills. He had a deep love of classical music and was an avid cook and wood worker. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie Witmer, his son in law Stephen E. Cohen and grandson, Adam Z. Cohen, all of Lake Oswego, Oregon as well as his sister, Virginia Witmer Casey of Santa Barbara, CA.
Services will be held at Waverly Chapel at the Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11 am in the morning. Memorial donations may be made to either: The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) or The Melanoma Research Alliance by clicking on the links below.
