Dear Daddy,
I have always Loved you & Adored you. I always wanted to make you Happy! I remember as a little girl being so excited when you were home especially while drinking your coffee. As far back as I can remember I was hugging you and talking to you non stop before you even took a sip!

You were always one of a kind, hard working! You told me repeatedly Don't Stop working  unless a limb is falling off(Marine mentality). So of course I adopted the same “Moto”.   I was stubborn~like you Dad. The last time I can remember I was out doing errands in Hot August 2020, you were so worried that I was over doing it & you wanted me to go home to get out of the heat, So I had to remind you of  how you taught me the good ole Marine way, and we had a good laugh.  I of course called right when I pulled up to my home. 

I always remember bragging about you to every military man/woman I met the last 30 years. They were so impressed with your age and paratrooper status, your AMAZING Daddy!!

You truly are my Hero,  I am so Proud to have called you My Father, The Best and The Most Devoted man to his children.  Thank you for raising us in a beautiful safe environment!! Your hard work paid off raising us kids!! I am proud of all my Brothers  & Sisters.

Dick has been with me through my adult life's important moments. I am going to miss him so very much  

He shared countless memories of his life with me. His time as a kid in Connecticut, he would laugh so hard telling the story of how his grandfather would be plowing the field right outside the kitchen window and as the horse passed each time his grandmother would give the horse. The horse learned to stop and wait for his treat and it would make his grandfather sooo angry to be interrupted in his work. And it made Dick laugh so hard remembering his grandmother irritate his grandfather. 

The story of how when he went hunting with his uncle for badgers, not knowing what a badger was and as he stood next to a tree he saw a fluffy tail.  Quickly he reached into the tree and grabbed it out by its tail. He called out to his uncle "look what I found" and as Dick got to this part of the story he would laugh hysterically as he told me how his uncle was shocked to see Dick holding a badger by the tail and yelled at him "YOU DROP THAT THIS INSTANT AND GET OVER HERE!!" His uncle was forbidden to take him hunting again. 

The day I brought him Heineken 0 he was like a kid on Christmas morning. I loved it. He shared stories of how he used to drink it while at USC, living in a beach house with a bunch of guys. 

I have so many... His time in the marines, hollywood bowl, and his kids. He never stopped sharing stories about his kids or his grandkids. 

His time of taking Steve and Paul to work with him so early in the morning that Paul slept during the entire car ride there. 

Dick taught me (unintentionally) the most efficient way to shop in a grocery store.  Start on the right most outside aisle go around, then make your way through the inner aisles. All while having a meticulous list that is written in the order of the aisles. I am grateful to have been able to help him and and become part of his life. 

Our favorite times with Dad was sharing the Pacific North West adventures with our boat trips was the best! Catching seafood and of course eating it! The fresh air and the seasons to experience . Watching the Seahawks play in the super bowl was the best! So many more memories can not fit in this space but will forever be in our hearts! We love you Dad!

Our deepest sympathy to the family and much love. Dick was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.  Our love and prayers to the family.

One of the things I loved the most about my grandpa is how he held onto things that he loved forever. My whole life of 27 years he always kept the same shirts and kept them in perfect condition. I get that same quality from him. I love you grandpa!
