

Robert Jeffery Lambert was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was born on March 22, 1941, to the late Jefferson and Margaret Lambert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jefferson and Margaret Lambert. Three brothers Jefferson Jr., Richard and Nathaniel, one sister Jeanette, and his devoted wife Doris.
Robert was raised in Philadelphia, PA. and graduated from Overbrook High School. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps. As a Communications Specialist, he and his family traveled to several duty stations including Camp Lejeune, NC, Kailua, HI, Camp Pendleton and El Toro, CA. In addition to serving at his duty stations, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam alongside his brother Jefferson (Cuddy), his brother-in-law Gene Cooper, and his cousin Donald (Boobie) Lawson. In 1980, he retired from the Marine Corps receiving an Honorable Discharge after 22 years of active duty as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He continued his dedicated service in the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve for an additional 10 years.
After his military service, he continued his career in Communications while working for and retiring from Pacific Bell. He also worked as a Communications consultant after his retirement.
Robert was introduced to Doris Castom, a Santa Ana policewoman, by mutual friends, Don and Helen Williams. It was a match! They married and resided in Orange, CA, celebrating 25 years of marriage. They both loved to travel and did so often. They were blessed to be able to travel and see many parts of the world.
His other passions included but were not limited to, his family, friends, music, sports, golf and earning the title “Coach”. As a successful and beloved football coach in Orange County, through his passion for the game, he was fortunate to be able to mentor and guide many of the young men that he coached. He was extremely proud of all his players.
Robert/Spike/Daddy/Poppy/Coach, always there with a big bear hug, a grin, and a helping hand leaves five children to cherish his memory. Pamela Duhon (Guy), Robert (Buddy) Lambert, Jr., Karen Clark, Sharra Kliebenstein (Randal), all of Oceanside, CA and Darryle (DC) Lambert (Cynthia) of Placentia, CA. Also cherishing his memory are eleven grandchildren, Tamara, Patrick, Andre, Derrick (DJ), Darrell, Arla, Sharla, Tara, Katrina, Samantha, and Zoey. Eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Eugene Lambert (Tanya) of Camden, NJ, Anthony Sullivan, Sr. (Teal) of Oceanside, CA, two sisters, Geraldine Cooper (Gene) of Oceanside, CA, Margie Poles (Toby) of Philadelphia, PA, one sister-in-law Teresa Lambert of Oceanside, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who he dearly loved.
