Robert Sumarsono

Robert Sumarsono (Kwa Kong Sik) passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Orange, California. Robert was born on February 9, 1931 in Magelang, Indonesia. He received his degree in chemical engineering from ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology). He later lived in Malang for a few years before moving to Surabaya where he worked as an engineer at AEG and as an engineering consultant for several companies. He was also a lecturer at ITS (Surabaya Institute of Technology). Robert and his family immigrated to the US in 1982. He worked as a health inspection specialist for the Los Angeles Health Department for more than 15 years. He retired from his full time position in 2001, but continued working for the department as a part-time consultant for another two years. Robert is survived by his wife Jennifer; children Alex (Stephanie), Peter (Caroline), Roy (Kristin); grandchildren Andrew (Brittany), Nathan, Kyle, Jacklyn, Karis, Ryan, Joanne, Elyse, Timothy and Julianne. Robert was a caring, loving, gentle husband, father and grandfather. Above all, he was a man touched, transformed and driven by the grace of God. He was an elder at Calvary Chapel Old Towne Church. He was also very involved with several Bible fellowship groups in Orange County. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
