Rudolph Pekala Jr.

Rudy was born October 19, 1930 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Rudy and Josephine Pekala. He graduated from Lawrence High School, joined the Navy and ended up in southern California where he met the love of his life Pennie Pieper and was married for over 32 years. He was dedicated to his job as a radiology technician until he retired at age 72. Outside of work, he enjoyed dancing, playing cards and traveling all over the world. He was also an avid sports fan – rooting for both the Boston Red Sox or the Angels. Rudy was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many people.

Rudy is survived by his daughters, Laura Pekala and her husband Chris Nolan of Granby, Connecticut; one grandchild, Nina. Vickie Robertson and her husband Robby of Whittier, California; two grandchildren, Emma and Abby. Debbie Pence of Miller Grove, Texas; her two children, Sean and Shannon. His cousin, Jim and Carol Sheehan of Escondido, California.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, February 17 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association at www2.heart.org
