In 1950 they moved to Southwest Los Angeles where she attended school grades K through 12. In 1960 Sandy graduated from Dorsey high school as a straight A and outstanding student. In 1961 she and her family moved to Norwalk California. Sandy got her first job in Norwalk at Beckman instruments. She continued at that job for 42 years. In 1974 she met the love of her life and soulmate Larry Steffens at Beckman. They married two years later on May 1, 1976. They bought their first house together in Orange California in 1977. There they built a beautiful life together filled with love and lots of laughter. Sandy loved to paint, especially watercolors. She also loved to shop and travel. Larry and Sandy loved Hawaii and often vacationed there. Sandy always worried about her baby brother Richard, even if it drove him crazy. She always wanted to take care of everyone especially her family. Sandy enjoyed spoiling her nieces Amanda and Alissa, and then her Great nieces and nephew, Ryann, Jacob, Charlee, Emmalynn and Kaylee. Sandy also had a love of music and museums. She volunteered with the Philharmonics, loved spending time with her womens church group and gave to many other charities.
Sandy passed away suddenly after a two-year illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
