

Alice Mae Davis, formally known as Alice Sousa, a beloved mother of three and active member of her community peacefully passed away on August 15. She was 101. Alice Davis was born on February 17, 1914 in Marin, Calif. Following her parents' death early in her childhood Alice's father's boss took in her in and raised her.Through her new guardians Alice met their nephew, Ken Davis, whom she found handsome and soon began a relationship with. Alice and Ken Davis were married on April 17, 1937.The couple moved to Santa Clara, Calif. in 1944 before eventually finding a permanent residence in San Jose, Calif. in 1950. After moving to Santa Clara County Davis became a Parent Teacher Association member of Santa Clara's Saint Claire School and later on San Jose's Notre Dame High School. She also worked part-time at the US Post Office. The couple enjoyed spending time with their friends, usually out in the town square dancing or folk dancing.Davis's husband died in 2002 and her sons Timothy and Michael Davis have passed as well. Davis is survived by her daughter Sr. Catherine Joan Davis; her daughter-in-law Linda Della; her grandchildren Lucas and Chianna Davis; as well as many of her nieces and nephews whom still reside in Marin and Santa Clara County.She is missed and will forever be loved. Services for Alice Davis will be held on Tuesday September 1st at the Queen of Apostles Church in San Jose starting at 1:00pm.
