Anthony Scalzo

Tony passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born, Antonio Scalzo, in Rio Dell, California on October 14,1920 to Michael and Maria Scalzo. Tony was the 7th child of Michael and Maria with 6 older sisters. Tony was a veteran of WWII stationed in India and doing vehicle repair for troops in North Africa. He was a Dry Cleaner at the Deluxe Cleaners in downtown San Jose before joining Ford Motor Company in Milpitas. He retired as a General Foreman for Commercial Chassis section of the Milpitas assembly plant in 1975. Tony met Leola in 1947 and were married for 53 years. Leola passed away in 2001. He is survived by his son Mark (Susan), his Grandchildren, Christina (Jim), Jennifer (Brian), Michelle (Chris), David (Ashley) and by 3 Great Grand Daughters, Sabrina Simpkins, Gianna Simpkins, and Isabella Scalzo; his sister, Lena Montesano who he lovingly referred to as “Peanuts”. Tony has three more Great Grandchildren on the way in 2018. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 9th, 2017, 10AM at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd in Santa Clara, with interment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncrest Hospice, 42808 Christy Street, Suite 216, Fremont, California 94538. As a final thought, the family would like to warmly thank the staff of Atria Chateau Gardens for their loving care.
