

Carlos Manuel Correia, was born on October 15, 1945, in the city of Horta, Faial in the Azores Islands of Portugal. He passed away on August 5, 2025, at Washington Hospital in Fremont. He was 79 years old.
Carlos was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was rooted in resilience, doing the right thing, and dedication to his family. Born and raised in the Azores, he carried his heritage with great pride and shared his culture, values, and traditions with those around him. He was a talented musician, and a member of the Sociedade Filarmónica União Portuguesa de Santa Clara for 25 years. In his youth, Carlos was a Soldado de Primeira Classe of the Forca Aerea Portuguesa.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Carolina Correia, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they raised five children; Carlos Felipe Correia, Anna Paula Correia, Helia Margarida Correia, Nuno Miguel Correia, and Ricardo Manuel Correia. His grandchildren; Ashley Susan Correia, Philip Anthony Correia, Nicholas James Chanpensai, Aidan Quentin Correia, Jack Dale Correia and Michaela Paige Chanpensai were the absolute pride and joy of his life.
Carlos will be remembered for his honest nature, his deep sense of responsibility and justice. His love for family, his silly jokes, his stories of the old country, and his quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
