Carmen De Abreu was born on September 16, 1926 in Lavras, Minas Gerais, Brazil to Martiniano Caetano and Libania (Silva) De Abreu. Carmen was a driven women working at the National Steel Company, married and had 3 children. As the children grew Carmen had a heart for helping others and entered a Pre-Medicine program in Rio De Janeiro to become a nurse. She came to the United States for a better future in medicine and worked hard to achieve her goals as a nurse (LVN) and citizen of the U.S. Carmen settled in San Jose, California where she lived many decades and has passed on August 27, 2013, but Brazil was her first love. She would travel back to visit her sisters, brother and many family members whenever she could manage. Carmen is survived by a daughter Eloenia Renzi, whom eventually moved to the United States and settled in California close to her and a son, Renzo Mazarelli, who still resides in Brazil. Carmen was a vibrant, funny, honest, compassionate women that showed love to all her family and friends. She was an amazing grandmother and great grandmother and will always be remembered with love and her passion for life.
