

Caroline, know as “Dolly” to many was a resident of San Jose for all of her 94 years.Born to the late Manual and Theresa Silva she spent over 25 years working the White Road orchard consisting of prunes, apricots and cherries. She was a member of the St. John Vianney Church Alter Society and her children also attended school there. She was know for her gardens of roses and annual flowers that she keep up until the day she passed with the help of her daughters. She befriended many in her neighborhood that would stop by while she tended to her front yard.She had a huge extended family including many longtime neighbors. She wanted everyone to have a place for the holidays and always opened her home so that no one would be alone during those times.She wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind she was very outspoken, her favorite saying was “ God gave me a mouth to talk”. Dolly gave advise whether you wanted it or not. Her spirit of giving and taking care of the people she loved will greatly be missed by all that knew her.Dolly was preceded in life by her husband Filbert E. Souza and her eldest son Phil S. Souza.She leaves behind her son Paul Souza, daughters Debra and Susan Souza, Grandson Justin Souza and her Great Grand Son JJ Souza. She also leaves behind her devoted pet dog Maggi.Memorial Mass will be at 12:00pm on September 21, 2019 at St. John Vianney Church.
