Chester John Abella passed on January 13, 2026. He was only 45 years old. Chester was a devoted and loving father whose greatest joy in life was his daughter, Chenzen, whom he loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Everything he did was rooted in his care for her and his desire to provide, protect, and guide.
Known for always keeping busy, Chester had a natural curiosity and loved tinkering with things, finding joy in fixing, building, and figuring things out. He had a strong work ethic and a hands-on spirit that reflected who he was at his core. Chester was also someone you could always count on—ready to lend a helping hand, generous with his time, and kind without hesitation. Chester had a great sense of humor. He loved to play jokes, he had the ability to make everybody laugh with the exception of two, whom he gave extreme high blood pressure to (Ma Asun and his wife May).
He is survived by his loving wife, May; his cherished daughter, Chenzen; his mother, Asuncion; his sister, Cherisa (Steven); his Manang Maridel and others. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark. Chester will be remembered for his warm heart, helpful nature, and the love he gave so freely to his family and those around him.
Though his time was far too short, Chester’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the kindness he showed, and the love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 11:00am with Funeral Service beginning at 1:00pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, located at 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
