Edward L. Fernandes

Ed died surrounded by those he loved most on November 30, 2024 at the age of 83.

Ed was born January 19, 1941 in San Jose, CA to Manuel and Louise Fernandes.

Ed married his everything, Gloria 53 years ago and together they built a beautiful life in San Jose. Ed is survived by the love of his life Gloria, their two daughters Nichole and Tracie, along with his son-in-laws Steve and Hector and his two grandchildren Jered and Lillie.

He was a loving thoughtful husband, best girl dad, and papa, and would talk about football or baseball over a Bud Light with anyone.

Ed attended Santa Clara High school and San Jose State University. He entered the Army where he proudly served his country as a medic.

He was a hard working man who gave 32 years to the United Parcel Service where he mentored and supported young drivers. Ed had a variety of passions, the main one being football. On the weekends you could find him refereeing Pop Warner and high school football games and even had the opportunity to Coach at Mt. Pleasant High School (some of his happiest years). He loved to write, read, and watch all sports on TV. He loved being with his family and never missed an opportunity to tell you how much he loved you.

Although Ed is gone he will live in our hearts forever until we see him again.

A memorial service will be held at Lima Family Mortuary on Friday January 3 at 6:00pm,followed by a private interment service on Saturday January 4th at 11:00am at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. To send flowers for the service or family please call Citti florist, 408-371-7000.
