Ed was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Baltimore City College before enlisting in the US Army in 1944. He served for 2 years, 1 of which was in the Philippines. He returned to Baltimore where he attended the University of Maryland before coming to San Francisco in 1952. Ed met his wife of 57 years in 1954. They moved to Santa Clara in 1955 and began raising a family. Ed lost his wife Margaret on March 11, 2012. They are survived by their six children: Nancy, Margaret, John, Marian, Robert, Richard and his wife Pam and their two grandchildren Jenny and Gillian. Ed is also survived by his brother Richard and his wife Shirley. Ed's sister Anna preceded him in death. Ed was employed at Lockheed Missiles and Space from July, 1966 until December, 1991. During his time at Lockheed he continued his education earning his MBA and CDP from San Jose State. After retirement he was a dedicated volunteer at the Santa Clara Senior Center preparing tax returns. Ed always had a love of music he was a member of the Sunnyvale Symphony and had his own band the Swinging Saints. A Memorial Celebration of Ed’s life will be on Saturday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd.
