AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Eileen L. Powers

19 août 1942 – 14 août 2022
Avis de décès de Eileen L. Powers
AUX SOINS DE

Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary

August 14th, 2022, on a Sunday afternoon, Eileen Lucille Powers, gracefully strolled through the gates of heaven. Eileen will be missed by many, but mostly (until they meet again) by her devoted and heartbroken husband, John R Powers, of 51 years.

In her youth, she was quite an accomplished violinist. Eileen was a compassionate woman and went on to pursue her life’s dream becoming a registered nurse.

In January 1971, Eileen married John Powers. The two truly were a perfect fit. John could not have asked for a more beautiful or supportive life companion.

Eileen enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. She also loved walking a million miles, traveling hand in hand with John, often going to San Francisco, museums, and local parks to walk. Eileen was far from materialistic and found joy in things money couldn’t buy.

Eileen was gentle, quiet, and very thoughtful, and at times could match John in stubbornness, as her will was strong. Generosity came naturally to her. Eileen could always spot a bargain and would load up enough gifts to fill her stepdaughter’s car to overflowing at every visit.

Anyone could learn kindness from Eileen. Every word ever spoken was kind and positive. And as long as Eileen was around, you could live without Google. One of her outstanding gifts was her intelligence and her unsurpassable memory; Every detail throughout life, numbers came without thought, names and places were unforgettable. Surely the reason John never learned to use a computer! All passwords are now lock in heaven.

Eileen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse Henkes and Norma Henkes respectively. She is survived by her Husband, John Powers; Brother, Donald Henkes (Evelyn Henkes); Nephew, Mark Henkes (Tonya Henkes); Niece, Lori Chenault (Ron Chenault); Stepdaughter, Cindy Anderson.

We will be celebrating her life aboard ship out of the San Francisco Bay, in October, 2022. Exact date TBD. To honor Eileen, please feel free to bring flowers to adorn the waters, nothing more.
