Emil "Rudy" Bucher Jr. passed away August 6th. Rudy was preceded in death by his son Kevin and survived by his wife of 48 years, Jacquelyn, his brother Robert "Bob", his sons Bob (Lori), Bill (Aja), his daughters, Kathy Adriano (Manny), Karen Meadows (Allan), his nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Rudy's hobbies included hunting, fishing commercially, camping, and flying.
Rudy devoted 37 years of his life to education for the City of Santa Clara. He began his career in teaching at Santa Clara Intermediate School in 1954. He was soon promoted to principal of William A. Wilson Intermediate School and in 1961 advanced to principal of the new Wilcox High. He served as principal of Wilcox until June 1981 at which time he was appointed Director of Santa Clara Unified School District's Adult Ed. He retired in 1991.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday 8/13 from 5-9pm with rosary at 7pm at Lima Family Santa Clara. Mass will be held 8/14 at 11am at St. Justin Parish.
