Eric Michael Sheldon

Eric Michael Sheldon, 42, a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, passed away at his home on October 27, 2025. Born on January 17, 1983, Eric's life was defined by his adventurous spirit, deep love for nature, his passion for sports, and the radiant warmth of his smile.

Eric found solace and joy in the great outdoors. An avid adventurer, he felt most at home on a hiking trail. He shared many memorable experiences hiking, including hiking Mount Whitney multiple times, as well as Half Dome and Cloud’s Rest with his father. They both shared a lasting love for the mountains.

Beyond the trails, Eric was very sporty and athletic. He enjoyed playing soccer and was a big fan of football.

Those who knew Eric will remember his shy and sensitive nature. While he could be reserved initially, he was a deeply loyal and loving individual whose laughter and smile had the power to light up any room. He delighted in playing games with his nieces and sister. They shared moments of joy and fun that they will forever treasure. He was an amazing individual once you got past his initial hurdles.

Eric faced significant struggles with addiction, a battle he fought with courage. He had been working incredibly hard on his recovery and had achieved a remarkable 18 months of sobriety at the time of his passing, a testament to his strength and resilience.

Eric is survived by his loving family who will deeply miss his gentle spirit. The family hopes that Eric has now found everlasting peace in his new home.

A visitation will be held on November 18, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, located at 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. The funeral service will follow at the same venue at 1:00 pm. A committal service is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
