Eugene Richard Mandere

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Mandere; son Nicholas (Emily) Mandere; granddaughter Emilia Mandere; brother Ernest (Linda) Mandere; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene was a quiet, religious and humble man, with an amazing inner strength. He had a deep love for family, his orchard, Caterpillar tractors and Model A’s. Gene was a longtime member of the Santa Clara County Model A club, Farm Bureau, Knights of Columbus, Chapter 17 of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners club and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he earned his BS degree in Agricultural Engineering. He worked many years in the food industry, including when there were the last surviving canneries in what used to be the “Valley of Heart’s Delight”.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Eugene’s services on Friday, September 5th, 2025 at Lima Family Mortuary in Santa Clara, CA. Gathering and social will begin at 10:30am with service to start at 11:30am.
