Evelyn was born in Ramallah (Palestine) in 1933, the daughter of Salem Yacub and Hilaneh Sam'an Ajluni. She married the late Issa Salamy Omron in 1954 and they emigrated that year to Buffalo, New York. Issa and Evelyn established a home and a family there and raised four children. Issa, Evelyn and the children relocated to California and settled in San Jose in the 1980s.
Evelyn is survived by sons Sam (Nancy) and Lou (Sonia); daughters Susanne (Ronald) and Renee (Thomas); eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers Sabri (Fadwa) and Anton (Adla); and sister Aida (Shawqi). She is preceded in death by husband Issa (1998); father Salem (1955); sister Naimeh (1983); mother Hilaneh (1999); and sister Wardeh (2015).
Evelyn was a warm and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many who love her. She was selfless, always put others before herself and made everyone feel like family. She will be sorely missed.
May her memory be eternal.
