Gasper J. Lupo passed away in the early hours of Saturday, July 22 at the age of 84. Son of John & Andreanna Lupo, Gap was born in Detroit, MI where he lived with his three siblings until the family moved to California in 1944.
After graduating from San Jose High School, he joined the US Marine Corps and actively served his country during the Korean War. In 1955, Gap married Hazel Johnson and they were together for 57 years before Hazel passed away in 2012.
Gap and Hazel enjoyed many family vacations in Lake Tahoe with their two sons, John and Christopher, together with Linda and Marty Satalino and their family. Gap looked forward to his annual deer hunting trip with his buddies, his weekly dinners at the Elks Club, and his weekly lunch with his best friend, Naish.
Gap worked at Pacific Bell for 35 years. In retirement, he like to golf, and he and Hazel enjoyed travelling in their motor home with the Roving Roosters. They also loved to vacation in Hawaii.
Gap is survived by his sons John and Christopher, brother Sam, sisters Marie and Frances, as well as his cousins, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Gap will be held at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00am.
