Gloria Isabel Palma was born on the 30th of November 1924, to Sara Palma in Santa Ana, El Salvador. She was the 2nd of 3 daughters; including her sisters Dorita and Sarita. Her half siblings were Amanda, Ketty, Zoila, Armando and Manuel, who all preceded her in death.
She met Antonio Lopez Rivera, who was to become her husband in 1944 and was the father of their 6 children; Oswaldo Antonio, Leonel Eduardo, Gloria Elizabeth, Ana Myrna, Salvador Edgardo and Mario Enrique.
As a young married woman, while her husband worked as an accountant/bookkeeper, she worked in the home as a private seamstress and was well known for her unique and professional style.
In 1966, she and her eldest son Oswaldo, came to San Francisco, California. Due to her pioneering efforts and hard work, she was later able to bring her family as well. This in turn, gave them an opportunity to settle and establish their own families.
On the 25th of January 2021, she passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Her legacy leaves behind her children, 18 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren, each who loved her dearly.
