Juan Martinez

Juan Martinez, 81 of Groveland, CA passed away on January 7, 2014 in Modesto, CA. Juan Martinez was born in Harlingen, Texas to Nicholas and Josefa Balli Martinez on March 9, 1932. He grew up and went to school in Harlingen, Texas. He married Margarita Lopez on July 3, 1955 in San Jose, CA. He worked as a carpenter for Blackwell homes for 25 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the United States Army. He was involved in the American Legion and VFW as well as a driver for the meals on wheels program in Groveland, CA. Juan is proceeded in death by his wife Margarita Martinez, mother and father Nicholas and Josefa Martinez, his brother Nicholas Jr. Martinez, sisters Virgina Garza and Hortencia Perez, and his two sons Victor and John Martinez. Juan is survived by his daughter Virginia Lasswell, son Jose Luis Martinez and daughter in law Anna Martinez, his sisters Maria Carmen Leal and Maria Luisa Ramirez, his grandchildren Angelina Forslund, Stefani Duncan, Nicholas Martinez, and Robert Martinez, great-grandchildren Legen Allen, Trenton Bowers, Jesslin Allen, Jayden King, Trinity Duncan and Gunnar Duncan, cousin Ernesto Balli, sister in law Mary Lopez, as well as close family and friends.The family of Juan Martinez wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Isabel Williamson and family for the loving care of Juan Martinez.
