Albert T. Moreno passed away peacefully to be with The Lord on Monday, April 1, 2019. Born May 16, 1939 to Alfredo and Teresa in Del Rio, Texas, youngest brother to Lupe, Joseph, and Antonio. Albert had begun coming to work summers in California with his family as a young boy in the mid 1940’s, and fell in love with the Santa Clara County, then called the Valley of Heart’s Delight, where he worked seasonally in the orchards picking cherries, and prunes. After graduating from Del Rio High, Albert married his sweetheart Mary Gallegos, also from Del Rio in 1959, and soon had two boys, Albert and Joe. The budding family moved to Mountain View, California where work was prosperous. Their family grew with an additional boy, Rob and a beautiful little girl, Iris. Albert had secured work at Varian Associates in Palo Alto, working on developing microwave technology and medical equipment, giving Varian 47 years of dedicated service as a Senior Mechanical Technician. Albert enjoyed deep sea fishing, crafting unique bird houses, raising cockatiels, but his joy was Latin Jazz. Albert loved playing the congas and had the opportunity to share his talents in his church choir, and with a group of fellow retirees, playing at senior dances and functions.
Albert was married to the love of his life, Mary for 49 years before she left to be the Lord. Together, they spent many years inseparable, often laughing and enjoying the friendships with their church family. Albert was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Antonio, and his oldest son Albert Jr. He is survived by his sister Lupe, his children Joe, Rob, and Iris. Albert enjoyed being in the company, and was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Albert leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, and a legacy of hard work and Christian values.
