Micaela Apodaca Gaspar

She loved to crochet, and every family member has some warm reminder of her talent. She made beautiful blankets, shawls, scarves with intricate detail and loving care.

Her home-made albóndigas soup was renowned by family and friends far and wide.

She moved to the San Jose area with her husband Manuel Gaspar in 1956 and raised 8 children: Gloria, Jesus Manuel, Arturo, David, Diana, Tomas, Olga and Sonia.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1996 and they are survived by all eight of their children, 14 grandchildren (Yvette,Sandra,Desiree,Sheena,Maya,David, Christopher,Selena,Tommy,Leila,Freddie,Sophia,Andrew, Joel and Ana)

13 great-grandchildren (Chanel, Gilbert,Brittany,Shasha,Chris,Jesse,Karina,Idalis,Jasiel Jr., Zariana, Alina, Angel and Presley. 3 great-great grandchildren (Robert,Jacob and Delilah)

Viewing will be held April 7, 2014 from 5-9 pm at Lima Family Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held on April 8, 2014 at 12 pm at Lima Family Mortuary

Micaela Gaspar, 90 anos de edad, nació el 7 de mayo, 1923 y falleció el 28 de marzo, 2014, entre el abrazo de su familia.

Le encantaba tejer, y cada miembro de la familia tiene algún recuerdo de su talento. Hacia maravillas de cobijas, rebozos, bufandas con detalles intricas y con el cuidado del amor.

Sus tortillas de harina hechas a mano y caldo de albóndigas tienen fama por toda la familia.

Se vino a San José con su esposo Manuel Gaspar en 1956 y criaron a ocho hijos e hijas: Gloria, Jesús Manuel, Arturo, David, Diana, Tomas, Olga, y Sonia.

Su esposo falleció en 1996 y sobreviven todos los ocho hijos. Tuvieron 14 Nietos (Yvette, Sandra, Desiree, Sheena, Maya, David, Christopher, Selena, Tommy, Leila, Freddie, Sophia, Andrew, Joel, y Ana); 13 bisnietos (Chanel, Gilbert, Brittany, Shasha, Chris, Jesse, Karina, Idalis, Jasiel Jr., Zariana, Alina, Angel and Presley); 3 tataranietos (Robert, Jacob y Delilah).

Velorio: April 7, 5-9 pm en Lima Family Mortuary.
