He was born September 21, 1948, in San Jose, Ca, where he attended Lincoln High School and later joined the US Army in September, 1966. Ruben was a bold and charismatic spirit, who was loved and known by many. He was referred to as “Ruben Dog” for his lively personality and vivacious lifestyle. He was a true family man in his own, special way; to the very end he was fiercely loyal and proud of all his relations. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Emma & Johnny Sanchez and Ruben & Rosie Rodriguez. He is survived by his children Shelly, Christine, Greg, Sharon; and grandchildren, Anthony, Vanessa, Andrew, DeAnna, Samantha, Vincent, Loren, Gabriel, Viviana, Valentina; and 7 great-grandchildren, 12 siblings and several, cousins, nephews and nieces. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 18th, 2018 at Lima’s Mortuary in Santa Clara at 1:00PM, followed by an inurnment at 2:30PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery and a reception immediately after at The American Legion Hall, 2120 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara, Ca 95050.
