

Sandy Carranza passed away surrounded by her family, following a short battle with cancer. Sandy was born in San Jose, CA to Richard and Edna Silveria and lived most of her life in San Jose, CA. For the past 21 years, Sandy resided in Newman, CA.
She graduated from Lincoln High School and Sequoia Automotive Technical School. For 27 years, Sandy worked as a Human Resources/Payroll professional at various companies within Silicon Valley. Sandy was a member of Toastmasters and would share profound writings in her many presentations.
Sandy was very proud of her Portuguese heritage and of her hometown. She loved the music of Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Joan Jett, and k.d. Lang and anything that included Sylvester Stallone. Sandy’s passions were her motorcycles and the Oakland/LA/Las Vegas Raiders. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially with Henrietta and her children.
Sandy is survived by her loving wife, Henrietta Carranza. She leaves behind her children: Sandra ‘J.R’, Harley, and Santino, and her stepchildren Steve ‘Tony’ Montes, Alexis Cabello, Matthew Cabello, and Lorie Miranda and daughter in-law Alma Montes in addition to her grandchildren: Isreal ‘Batman’, Ariana, Isaac, and Emily Montes. She was the beloved sister of Elaine Silveria (Cori Johnson) of Milpitas, CA, Pat Naito (Dudley Naito) of Honolulu, HI, and Renee Silveria (late Marty Downs) of Newman, CA. Sandy was a caring aunt to Steven Corrales, Marcus Naito, and Jake Johnson-Silveria and was loved by her aunts, Betty Hahn and the late Janet Audino and her uncles, the late Jim Hahn and John Audino. She had many cousins whom she adored.
We thank the ICU staff of Sutter’s Memorial Hospital in Modesto, CA for the compassionate care extended to Sandy. We invite you to join us in the celebration of her life with visitation on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, from 12 pm – 1 pm with the Rosary beginning at 1 pm at the Lima Family Mortuary located at 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. A reception will be held immediately after the service, and interment will be held privately at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
