Sylvia born in Corpus Christi, TX passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 27. She is preceded in death by her husband, Armando Yañez and loving daughter Cynthia. Father Abel Cedillo, Mother Magdalena Zamora, Stepfather Andres Zamora, Sister Irma Salinas.

She is survived by her Sister Yolanda Torres Corpus Christi, TX, Brother’s Juan Davila Corpus Christi, TX, Ray Olvera San Francisco, CA, and Bill Zamora Houston, TX. Her children Armando (Kathy), Anthony (Maureen), Cheryl Yañez Williams (Scott), Alfred (Diane), Adolf (Lisa) and Cathy Arrañaga (Victor). Loving Grandmother of Sean and Armando Yañez Jr., Tony (AJ) Yañez, Lauren Williams, Mitch, Matt and Michael Yañez, Sierra and Jessica Yañez and Alicia and Celina Arrañaga. Sylvia was affectionately known by the kids as “Nana”.

She was the matriarch of a large and extended family, always there for everyone, offering guidance, love, and support. Nothing made her happier than to be with her grandchildren and traveling all over the world with family and friends.

Visitation will begin Monday, April 2 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara 466 N. Winchester Blvd. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Queen of Apostles located at 4911 Moorpark Ave in San Jose at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
