

William Michael Ware (AKA “Mickey”) was born July 19, 1950 to the late Alonzo and Laura Mae Ware in Detroit, Michigan. The youngest of four children, Michael had two sisters, Patricia and Carolyn and one brother, Lonnie, all preceding him in death. Being he grew up in Detroit, Michael loved his old Motown music. He told many wonderful stories about listening to the old original groups practicing on the steps of Hitsville, USA. In 1968, he graduated from Central High School. Michael was employed in various positions during his lifetime. At the time of his retirement, he had been a welder for 36 years with Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale. Besides traveling and football, Michael loved to fish both lake and deep-sea. As for music, he could be found listening to blues, smooth jazz, R&B and soul no matter where he was or what he was doing. He was a member of IAM (Lodge 93), the American Legion and various fishing clubs. After serving in Vietnam for 3 years with the US Army and receiving an honorable discharge, Michael returned to the States and finally chose California as his new home, where he met and married his wife of 15 years, Sarah. After a long illness, on Thursday, February 19, 2015, William Michael Ware went home to be with his Lord. His loving wife, Sarah, survives him along with his four nieces Pamela Wright (MI), Lisa Jackson-Hardman (MD), Kimberly Williams (GA), Karen Irving (CA) and one nephew David Irving (CA) Michael leaves to cherish his memory. His sister-in-law Anita Ruffin (KS) and brother-in-law John Irving (GA), along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends, also survive him. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara.
