Winsford, known fondly as Win, was born to Finis and Nora Wheatley on November 6th,1930 in Hazen, Arkansas.
After serving in the Navy, he spent time as a psychiatric tech at Agnew State Hospital. He also joined the Sunnyvale Police Department. His main career was as a Fire Engineer for the city of San Jose.
He also became a real estate broker and appraiser, and finally as a business owner ( Lafayette Car Wash)
He is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Wheatley(2010) and is survived by his wife Maria and two daughters. Wendy Fishburn (John) and Randi Venting (Ken) along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary 466 N. Winchester Blvd. between 10:30 am to 12:00 pm with internment following at 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 2650 Madden Ave. San Jose.
Donations can be made to Salvation Army and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
His strong personality and gentle heart will be forever missed.
