Beth was born to parents Helen Louise Standish-Cope and Foster Francis Cope, on August 16, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was the youngest daughter of eight children.
Beth worked for many years running the front office of a Property Management Company in Los Angeles, California, retiring after fifteen solid years of service in 2000.
Although she traveled the whole of the US in her youth, Beth was a country girl at heart, and preferred to put down roots (pun intended). She was happiest with her hands in the soil, planting her yearly vegetable garden and nurturing her plants. She was also known to be an excellent cook, which she was able to demonstrate through the fruits of her labor. She was the go-to for everyone’s recipe needs and her memory will live on through the beautiful meals she shared with so many.
As the daughter of a musician, she had a love and appreciation for music, and the arts, and possessed a deep and varied catalog that included all genres of music and spanned over sixty decades up to today. Music was the soundtrack of her life.
The things Beth loved most were her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, and she often shared how much pleasure she got from just being a mom and a grandma. She greatly enjoyed family gatherings, and cherished the time she had with her loved ones, especially so when it included a long game of Gin Rummy, or watching The Dodgers go to extra innings while sipping on her fave non-alcoholic drink - a venti Caramel Frap, extra whip.
Beth is survived by her four children - Bill, Lori, Sunnie, and Phaedra, her ten grandchildren - Rachael, Destiny, Javannah, Madeleine, Alex, Tyler, Olivia, Michael, Reghan and Ryleigh, her two great-grandchildren - Rowdy and Radley, her brothers – Ted and Gary, as well as her two sons-in-law – Will and Kory, her beloved cat, Sissy, and a myriad of loving friends, and extended family way too many to name, including her sister-in-law, Toni, who she loved like her own. Beth was preceded in death by her loving son, Michael, her parents, her five brothers and sisters, her cherished daughter-in-law, Cherie, her beloved horse, Guapo, and her best-boy, Lucky who no doubt excitedly greeted her upon arrival.
Beth will be cremated, and her ashes will travel the whole of California. The family is working on plans for a celebration of Beth’s life, while staying true to her wishes of “no party without me.” (yes, Beth suffered from FOMO up until the very end) and they will share that information as soon as plans are finalized.
The family greatly appreciates the outpouring of love and support they received both prior to, and since Beth’s passing.
