Charles Edward Smith Jr.

Mr. Charles Edward Smith Jr. passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 in Santa Monica, California. He had been retired 7 years from New Haven Moving Company where he worked as Customer Service/Warehousing Associate for 40 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the occupation of Japan at the end of World War II and was Honorably Discharged November 11, 1947. He attended University of Oklahoma from January 1948 to January 1951. His courses of study were Marketing and Business Administration. Charles was a member of OU's choir and enjoyed operas. He was preceded in death by his father Charles E. Smith, his mother Pearl Humphrey Smith, and his four sisters, Lois Boyes, Beatrice Bryant, Wilma Welch and Ruth Mitchell. He is survived by one nephew, Douglas Welch of Bixby, Oklahoma and three nieces, Carole Griffin of Hugo, Oklahoma, Sharon Boyes of Lakeland, Florida and Susan Nelson of Fort Bragg, California.
