Janice Eloise Eakins

Janice Eloise Eakins, 78, of Santa Paula, passed away on July 3, 2012. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Lola Eakins, and brother, Rollin Gene Eakins. She is survived by her 6 nieces and nephews.

Ms. Eakins was born June 16, 1934, in Springfield, Ohio. She attended City High School in Springfield, graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in nursing and then continued her education at San Diego State University. Eloise moved to Santa Paula in 1964 where she was an English teacher at Santa Paula High School until she retired in 1989.

Ellie was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students and generously supported many high school programs, local charities, and organizations in Ventura County. She was an animal lover and supported the local animal shelters and rescues.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura. Refreshments will be served following the service.
