

She was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Fillmore. She was a resident of Ventura County for 86 years, from Fillmore and Santa Paula. Josephine worked at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide for 20 years. She loved to cook for her family, visit with her family and grandchildren, and she enjoyed writing in her daily journal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Velasquez and Elena Godinez, and her brother, Michael Velasquez.
She is survived by her husband, Adauto Flores; brother, Adolph Velasquez; sister, Rita Leon; sons, Richard D. Macias and Robert D. Macias (wife Judi); daughter, Tereza Arellano; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorraine Macias; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23, also at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Santa Paula Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vista Cove Care Center, 250 March St., Santa Paula, CA 93060.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vista Cove Care Center for the care they provided for Josephine Flores. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
