

She was valedictorian at her 1954 graduation at Venice Nokomis High School. She graduated from Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL in 1959 with a Bachelor’s degree, and from University of Southern Illinois with a Masters in English. She taught Elementary school for several years starting in Englewood, Florida and also taught English to adults at a prison in Winslow NJ. Returning to Venice she volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Laurel Elementary School. She was an avid tennis player and will be remembered by many Venice court players. She was active in several clubs and groups and was a member of First Baptist Church of Venice.
She leaves behind her three sons, Jon Cohill, and daughter in law Anna Cohill of Nokomis, Chris Cohill of Albany, NY, and Clayton Konneker of Venice; a sister Kay Spiegel of Venice, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Cohill and her parents Harry and Lois Sjoblom.
In 1959 she attended a six week officers training class at Quantico, Va. She was always willing to try a new adventure. She loved to travel and visited over 30 countries as well as many states in the U.S. with family and friends.
