
Betty Ann Gregory, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday Dec. 9. She had briefly resided at the Tidewell Hospice House. Betty, born in Fairlawn NJ to the late William and Kell Hutting of Eatontown NJ, moved to Sarasota in 1994 from Sea Girt NJ. when her husband , Rev. Eugene Gregory retired from the ministry with the American Baptist Churches. She served as "pastor's wife" in churches in Laurel Springs, Bloomingdale and Keyport, all in NJ. She was employed by The Monmouth County Organization of Social Services(former name) for many years as a home health aide and administrative secretary. She was graduated from Long Branch NJ High School and attended Bob Jones University, Greenville SC. Betty met the love of her life, Eugene Gregory, in church as a teenager and they were married in 1950 and have been married for 64 years. Betty is survived by her husband and three children, Steven (Ronda) of Seminole Fl, David (Ann) of Louisville TN, and Dawn(Chris) Provoyeur of Brandon Fl. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Christian and Kimberly Gregory of Knoxville TN, Matthew Miller of Tampa Fl, and Keith Olson of Riverside CA. She is also survived by a sister Dorothy Wiggs of West Chester PA, and predeceased by a brother William Hutting and wife Nancy of Eatontown NJ as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was an extra ordinary loving person, a dedicated loving wife and mother. She was anxious to share her faith in Christ and sought to win others to the Lord. In recent years she was encumbered with the problems associated with diabetes. Many of her fond memories through life came from many years of camping with the family across the US and Canada. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church along with her husband. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 3:00 pm Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, FL, with the Rev. Dr. Edward VanderHey of Fort Meyers officiating In lieu of flowers, a remembrance gift may be sent to the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church, 45 Main St. Keyport, NJ 07735 where her husband pastored for 17 years.
